Running therapy in Delft

What is Running Therapy?

Running therapy involves running at a low heart rate to reduce feelings of stress and improve mood. A better mood can result in various benefits, including reduced overstimulation, decreased anxiety or panic, diminished chronic fatigue, and fewer sleep problems. In essence, running is used as a means to enhance one’s emotional well-being.

Through running therapy, individuals learn to run continuously for 30 minutes, striving to achieve this goal independently.

Why running?

Running is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, and can be done anywhere and at any time. It yields significant benefits without demanding excessive time commitment. Regular runners often report a sense of relaxation during and after running, along with a clearer state of mind.

Who is Running Therapy for?

Running therapy is designed for individuals who may face challenges in mobility and independence. The focus is primarily on neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with autism, as well as individuals with ADHD and high sensitivity (HSPs).

Participation in Running therapy does not require any prior running experience.

What does running therapy entail?

The process begins with an intake session. During this session, we familiarize ourselves with each other, discuss expectations, and establish goals. The program includes a 12-week phase. Throughout this period, participants engage in guided group running sessions led by myself, a running trainer, and a running therapist.

In addition to group sessions, you’ll be expected to independently practice running 2 or 3 times a week.

You will receive a well-structured schedule comprising diverse sessions that have been designed responsibly.

Upon completing the initial 12 weeks, we will assess your progress and determine an appropriate continuation plan.

Location and Schedule

Currently, training sessions are scheduled for Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 PM.
